French stocks ended down, Carrefour shares jumped 6.95 percent

French stocks ended slightly weaker in trading Wednesday (23/1),
with the CAC-40 benchmark index in Paris down 0.15 percent or 7.15 points to 4,840.38 points.

Of the 40 stocks of selected large companies incorporated in the CAC-40 index component,
199 stocks recorded a decline in prices.

UK-based integrated energy company TechnipFMC suffers the most losses (top
loser) among the leading or “blue chips” stocks, with the share price falling 2.19 percent.

Followed by shares of French multinational automotive supplier Valeo SA which fell 1.98 percent, as well
Schneider Electric SE, a global specialist in energy management and automation, fell 1.63 percent.

On the other hand, said Xinhua, France’s leading retailer group Carrefour SA jumped 6.95 percent to
the winner of the biggest gain (top gainer) among the leading stocks.

Followed by shares of alcoholic beverage producer Pernod Ricard SA which added 1.43 percent, as well as
French carmaker Renault SA rose 1.11 percent at the end of trading.
